President and joint owner of the company, David Phelps has been working at Phelps Insurance for over three decades. After earning his Associates Degree from Hudson Valley Community College, David honed in on his knowledge of insurance, by enrolling at the Albany Brokers & Agents School. Today, David continues his father’s legacy by providing customers with a family-centered approach to insurance.
Nick Phelps
Joint Owner
Nick’s start at the agency in 2012 marked the start of a new era as he is now the third generation to work in the business. Upon graduating from LaSalle Institute, Nick continued his education, earning his Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Oswego in 2012. Growing up in an “insurance family” it seemed only natural for him to become a licensed agent and broker and join the family business. His degree in Business Administration, coupled with a childhood immersed in the insurance industry make Nick an ideal resource for both the company and its clients. Nick’s experiences and education enable him to provide customers with excellent service with a professional, yet family-oriented mindset.
Kim Phelps
Joint Owner
A joint owner of the company, Kim Phelps has been working at Phelps Insurance for nearly three decades. After earning her diploma from Columbia High School, Kim became a licensed insurance broker and agent to join the family business started by her father in 1963. Kim prides herself on providing customers with a personal touch and excellent service.
April Sheldon
Licensed Insurance Agent
A Capital Region native, April is the newest member of the Phelps Insurance team, joining the agency in 2021. Her industry knowledge coupled with her friendly personality and positive attitude, April always goes out of her way to make sure the needs of our clients are met. April is a graduate of Mercy High School in Albany, NY.
